The Captain and I opened our 2021 challenge account with a win on Tuesday. Our opponents Paul Berry & Andy Kitchen played some nice golf but in the end we were a little more steady running out 3&2 winners...
The Trotter is well underway now with number three being contested last Thursday. Division one winner Paul Alcock had to rely on his back 9 to see off Mark Prosser as both came in with 41 points, third with 40 was Dave Thomas. The same happened in division two, but this time it was Russ Favager edging out Terry Graham and third was Andy Nichol on 40.
It was the gents' first invitation on Saturday and what a stunning day for it! 86 visitors got to play the course in fabulous conditions and there was plenty of praise received around the club following the round. Richard Hughes and his guest Graham Hunter were the winners, on a countback with 46 points. Shay Keogh and his guest Chris Mooney were the unlucky runners-up on the same score and third with yet the same score were Barry Martin & Chris Brennan. Well done to all the other prize winners on the day and to Tony Walker, Shaun Carter and the handicap committee for ensuring the day went smoothly.
The ladies played a 4BBB on Tuesday, and the scoring was as hot as the weather! With a whopping 44 points, the winners were Jo Ratcliffe & Ruth Walker, and just one back in second were Theresa O'Neill & Jill Bowes, edging out Willelmien Van Der Hoeven & Kath Milligan.
Margaret Steeles was this wees 9 hole winner with 14 points, and runner-up with the same score was Irene Scott, third with 12 was Anne Cleary.
Well done to all of this week's competition winners and to all those who took part.
